Taking a taxi in Split: 6 tips
How to recognise a licensed taxi, agree the price and avoid surprises.

- A licensed taxi is marked. It has a TAXI roof sign, a meter and a displayed tariff.
- Agree the price before the ride. For longer routes ask for a fixed price; in the city rides usually go by the meter.
- Say how many of you there are and how much luggage you have. The driver can then send the right vehicle.
- Save the driver number. If you were happy, the same driver can take you back.
- Ask about card payment in advance. Not every driver accepts cards.
- Expect summer traffic. Roads around the ferry port and towards the airport get busy.
